Algorius Net Viewer Manual | Trace Routing

General Information

Algorius Net Viewer gives possibility for you to view the route (path) of packets to the specific devices at the map. The result is displayed in text form (in a separate window) and in graphical form (lines between devices on the map).

Performing Routing

To lunch the routing for a device, select it on the map and select StandardTrace Route from the device context menu. The Trace Route window will be shown with a route to the device.

Route shows the node’s number, its IP, duration of data transfer to the node or error code in case of no response, node’s DNS name.

A feature of trace routing in Algorius Net Viewer is the parallel performing of routing and defining of each node’s name. It provides the high operational speed.

Checking Routing Result

En-route addresses are shown as the hyperlinks if are found at the maps during the routing. You can go to the device by clicking the relevant hyperlink.

Devices within one route are connected with the lines at the map. It makes the route visually clear. Line is dashed if there are any en-route addresses between the devices, which are not found at the map.

If a node is located at the other map, which is linked to the current map, then a line is included into this link. Double-click link to go to another map and check the route extension.

It is allowed to make the consequent trace routing for several addresses. Text result will be displayed in separate windows. Graphic result is highlighted for the last active trace route window.

Close the route window to finish the trace routing.
