Algorius Net Viewer Manual | Inventory Reports

'Inventory' report category provides the following types of reports:

Inventory

Displays the inventory results. The report contains several tabs. Overview tab displays the summary information about one or more devices. Next there is a list of tabs, which display detailed information about the respective components (motherboard, processor, programs, etc.). Last Scan tab displays the result of the last scan of one or more devices. The report is available for one or several devices on one or several maps. You can filter devices by type.

Devices

Displays various inventory data by devices on a map. There is one record per each device on a map. Report is available for one or several devices on one or several maps. You can filter records by device types.

Software

Displays a list of programs from inventory cards. In the report template settings, you can specify the list of programs you want to filter. If the list of programs is not filled in, the report displays information about all programs from the inventory cards. It is allowed to specify a partial program name — for example, Algorius, or a full name — for example, Algorius Net Viewer, specifying the version (Algorius Net Viewer 10.3.5), or a partial version (Algorius Net Viewer 10). The search for matches is case insensitive.

The list can be filled out manually in the report settings. For convenience, adding or removing programs from the list is possible through the context menu of programs in the card. For quick access to edit the list there is aa item Configure Software List in the reports tree context menu.

You can additionally specify what information to output:

  • About all programs on this list;
  • About all programs that are not on the list;
  • About all computers that do not have programs installed from this list.

This helps solve the following tasks:

  • Display who has unwanted software installed. For example, outdated Flash Player, games, etc. The filter type should be specified as: Show where the listed programs are installed, and fill out the list of unwanted programs.
  • Display who does not have the required programs installed, e.g. antivirus. The filter type should be: Show where the listed programs are NOT installed, and fill out the list of required programs.
  • Display who has unknown programs installed. The filter type should be: Show where other programs are installed, and fill out the list of programs that you know. This allows you to keep track of new program installations.

The list of tasks to be solved is not limited to this. For example, you can display information about paid software used in the organization, including the cost (using additional attributes). You can also add your own report templates.

There are five report templates pre-installed in the application in the Programs group, which are called: All, Important, Unwanted, Unknown, Not Installed. All you need to do in the settings of these templates is to fill in the list of the corresponding programs.

Inventory Log

Displays the log of device scanning for a specified period of time. The report is created using inventory log, which is stored in database, according to the logging settings. The report is available for one or several devices on one or several maps. You can filter the devices by type, the records by the state.
